| Description: | Acanthopagrus Australis or Yellowfin Bream are generally a silver to olive-green colour that varies slightly depending on the clearness of the water they are living in. Their pectoral, anal and ventral fins are a yellowish colour.
Yellowfin Bream are opportunistic feeds and have a wide ranging diet that can include small crabs, prawns, molluscs, pipis and small fish depending on the food available in the local area. Yellowfin Bream have a hard smallish mouth that they can used to crush small hard shell animals for food.
Yellowfin Bream are also known as Silver Bream and can easily be mistaken for Black Bream.

| Tackle: | Yellowfin Bream are best targeted with tackle as light as possible. Main lines of 2-3 kg (6 pound) are suitable in most situations with fluorocarbon leaders of up to 5 kg or 12 pound if fishing around structure.
Light whippy rods and small thread line reals (1500-2000) are best suited for chasing Yellowfin Bream as they allow you to cast smaller, lighter lures and baits greater distances.
Yellowfin Bream can be regularly caught hard body lures, soft plastics and flies. Hard body lures should be small (4-5 cm in length), shallow and deep diving lures are both suitable, as are surface poppers.
Soft plastics such as minnow and grub styles are often usually successful in 2 to 4 inch sizes and varying colours. Jig heads should be as small and light as possible with size 4 to size 1 hooks.
Flies such as Crazy Charlies, Clousers and Deceiver patters ties on size 4 to 1 hooks can also be very successful for bream. Green and yellow are popular colours for Yellowfin Bream
