New South Wales is located in the middle of Australia`s eastern coast. Made up of many different regions it offers endless fishing options for land-based fishermen. All along the coast a huge range of species can be found. Inland you can find stocked and wild trout in the mountains and a buffet of fresh water species in the rivers. Major city of NSW The Snowy Mountain range is home to the Kosciuszko National Park who`s lakes and rivers offer some of Australia`s greatest fly fishing. With 16 man-made lakes and loads of mountain streams to choose from there is plenty of fishing on offer. Lake Jindabyne - Lake Jindabyne is a huge body of water on the edge of the Snowy Mountains and provides many land-based opportunities.Lake Eucumbene - Lake Eucumbene is fed by several Mountain Streams and offers fly/lure and bait fishing opportunities. Eucumbene River - The Eucumbene River into and out of lake Eucumbene and can produce some great fish at times and is a popular stretch of water. The Newcastle regions can offer loads for the land based fisherman. There is plenty of room and action along the cost, salt water rivers and estuaries. Not to far inland there are huge stocked dams and weirs for the fresh water fans and there are mountains for the Trout fans. Stockton Breakwall - Stockton breakwall is a long stone breakwall on the north side of the Newcastle harbour entrance.Port Macquarie is located on the New South Wales coast nearly midway between Sydney and Brisbane. It sits at the mouth of the Hastings River and has some beautiful and pristine waters ways and some magnificent beaches. All of this offers some excellent fishing opportunities for the land based angler. The many and large beaches offer a buffet for the beach fisherman and the Hastings River offers a vast array of fishy haunts for those who prefer estuary fishing. The break walls at the mouth of the Hastings River aren't a bad spot to try either. Southern Breakwall - The Southern break wall offers fishing opportunities all the way from right at the mouth of the Hastings River around the foreshore to the fishing co-op. You can fish from Bream, Luderick and Mulloway.
