New South Wales is located in the middle of Australia`s eastern coast. Made up of many different regions it offers endless fishing options for land-based fishermen. All along the coast a huge range of species can be found. Inland you can find stocked and wild trout in the mountains and a buffet of fresh water species in the rivers. Also known as "the top end" of Australia. The Northern Territory is the best place to acquaint yourself with Australia`s world-famous barramundi. It is a paradise for unspoiled fishing locations. There are fully-serviced fishing lodges, strategically situated in remote localities and heaps of talented fishing guides. Western Australia is the biggest Australian state and its coastline covers the tropical north to the windy south. As you might expect, this supplies a great water-to-fisherman ratio and can offer you a huge selection of fishing spots. Queensland is located on the north of Australia`s eastern coast. It boasts warm tropical weather in its northern region and big beautiful beaches along its coast. Around the top end of Queensland the Barramundi can produce heart pounding action and they can be caught in stocked impoundments and in rivers. Fishing along the coast can produce large tropical species as well as common `bread and butter` species like Bream and Whiting through out the state. Victoria for a small state can offer some terrific fishing. Trout fishing in the mountains can be awesome and all around Victoria`s coastline can offer some fantastic land based spots. This state, with its southern coastline, is famous for visits by Great White Sharks. While South Australia is famous for its Snapper fishing it also provides for the land based fisherman. Taking advantage of South Australian beaches, rock ledges and estuaries can be most rewarding. The Australian Capital Territory is located approximately half way between Melbourne in Victoria and Sydney in New South Wales, and is principally the City of Canberra and surrounds. This is an inland state with national parks and famous trout fishing. The island of Tasmania is south of the mainland and closest to the Antarctic. It has the perfect climate for Trout, and definitely boasts the best trout fishing in Australia. Don?t be fooled though, fishing Tasmania`s rivers, beaches and coastline can produce awesome results. It is truly an unspoiled paradise. |
